Middle and High school in Povoa de Lanhoso

CLEM in a pragmatic and organizational way, presented the solution that changed all the routes of access to the scattered buildings so that the entrances were facing a large covered area.
As a way to expand the sparse area of existing covered areas, a new and central covered area was created based on columns that shadowed living areas and small amphitheaters of conviviality between students in these exterior living areas.

“With an architectural allusion of this shading slab to teaching, in the point of view that teaching is rigorous, the slab is also in geometric terms with “elementary” angles (90º) , in antithesis to this form, as an allusion to the student and his cognitive development to the logo of learning, in which with more or less difficulty acquires the teachings, that sometimes not everyone in a linear and straight route, the shape of the circulation slab, presents a more irregular, more organic shape, with various altimetry, in which in its course involves and embraces the large covered area, as the student wraps and embraces the teachings between various stages and blocks (buildings) results in a golden route that transports the student to each entrance of the class building and to the library in the main building.”.
A project full of concept that was caressed by students, teachers and jury.
